Shoshanah always liked the Indiana Jones movies as well as Star Wars. She always wanted a dog she could name Indy because Indiana Jones was named after his dog, not the other way around. When we got a female, it posed a little bit of a puzzle -- the Indy in question being a male, you see -- but when we considered the possibility of naming her Leia, Indy seemed like it could be a great name for a female too. :^P

The rest of her official name is all my fault. Being a Golden, she has her energetic periods, and I wanted a name that was descriptive, humourous, and rolled off the tongue in a particularly singsong-fashion. Try it -- say "Indiana Cuppa Capuccino" three times real fast . . .

OK. I hear you saying poor dog. She answers to, and we call her, Indy or Indiana.

Circa 8-2000: Idn't chee cuwt! She's full grown now, she'll be two in January, and outside of an awful inherited allergy that makes her itch most of the time, she's as healthy as a horse. Almost time to get her checked for hip and elbow displasia, an ailment common with purebread Goldens. If she's clear, we'll have it certified and maybe have some pups for sale someday soon . . .
